Our pollen is harvested from pristine native WA forests. Our supplier base is comprised of experienced WA beekeepers that collect pollen from their hives when in abundant supply.

Typically, our pollen will be collected by beekeepers during flowering of one major species at a time, for example a Jarrah or Marri flowering. It is possible for there to be other pollen types collected during the same window if some of these flowering events overlap, so monofloral does not mean it’s all 100% the same and there will always be some variation. We definitely do not blend or mix our pollen though, so the composition of the pollen you receive will be the same as when it was harvested by the bees.

The majority of our pollen comes from Marri (also known as Redgum), however, we also process pollen from Jarrah, Wandoo, Blackbutt and Powderbark, depending on what flowers during the season.

The collection of pollen from beehives doesn’t harm honey bees. Pollen is collected using specially designed pollen traps that bees need to pass through when they return to the hive. These traps gently brush a portion of the pollen from the bees’ legs as they pass through. Importantly, enough pollen is left on the bee’s legs to ensure the nutrition of the hive is not compromised. Additionally, pollen traps are not used continuously but intermittently, to minimize any potential stress on the bees and to maintain the natural balance of resources within the hive.

No. Our pollen is dried, graded and packed ready to eat without any additives. Why mess with perfection!

Pollen is easily incorporated into drinks such as smoothies & supplement shakes, and is a great addition to cereal and muesli. It’s also amazing on yogurt or ice cream.

Around 10g is considered a daily dose for the typical adult.

Bee pollen may cause severe allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. If you are taking bee pollen for the first time, it’s a good idea to start with a small amount and workup from there. Also, it is not recommended for pregnant women and infants.

Pollen is hydroscopic meaning it absorbs moisture from the air. Too much moisture will result in spoilage so it’s best stored in the fridge in an airtight container. Storing in the dark also helps preserve bioactive components such as flavonoids and antioxidants.

Bee pollen is best used within 12 months of purchase, however, long-term storage under suitable conditions is possible without substantial degradation of key nutritional components.
